Does it ever seem like we’re in a rut? We keep talking about issues but never move forward. We keep responding to things that are happening but never solve the underlying problem. There is a business term for that. It’s being reactive rather than proactive. One focuses on watching for fires while the other studies the cause of the fire and prevents them. At The People’s White House we’ve developed a solution and it’s called collaboration and teamwork.
Ever seen an Amish barn raising? Folks working together towards a common goal. Everyone with a vital task synchronized by experience and the knowledge of the elders. The amazing sight understated by the absence of heavy equipment, power tools or technology.
A ten hour project was condensed into three minutes and thirty seconds on YouTube, "Amish Barn Raising". That’s 210 seconds - just enough time to explain how we can help our elected officials repair Washington and fix the political confusion, permanently, using team work and common sense.
Politics is about power. Fortunately in America, power is given by the people to their representatives. To properly execute their job they require input from the electorate, that’s us. Our lives don’t have to be about chance. The saying, “Life is like a box of chocolates” only really applies if the descriptive insert is gone, or you don’t know how to read. We must understand the problem in order to fix it.
First, we have to stop getting our information, our news, from for profit entertainment TV. Social media is a great place for discussions but we must base real debate on facts. We tend to be lazy when it comes to research so if someone we know on the channel we listen to says it’s so we run with that, especially if it supports our personal beliefs. There is no such thing as alternate facts.
Second, we have to stop focusing on the few issues we disagree on and rally around the positive, the issues we all believe in. Every issue has at least one fact based, common sense solution that the vast majority of us are comfortable with. We have to choose one and then make it happen. Many issues we can resolve without government intervention.
Third, we have to speak up. The only viewpoint being heard is the extremes and the lobbyist because they’re the only ones talking. It’s time our voices, the voices of main street, those of the majority in the middle take a stand. We’ve been separated and divided by directions, by organizations and by ourselves. It’s time common sense defined a movement, it’s time common issues were resolved and it’s time we united as one people. It’s time for a united voice, it’s time for The People’s White House. This can all happen with three easy steps.
1.) Join. There is no financial investment or age restriction. Become a member for just $20/year and help us make it happen. As with all good things there is a catch. 3.) Once our office is up and running, you will have homework. Take just five minutes daily to review an email full of factual news and logical debate. Articles are from trusted sources which are fact checked before they’re included. Debates happen on-line in real time on issues of importance like Climate, Immigration and Health Care, chaired by experts in the field. Business leaders, financial experts, scientists and others who will determine, with our input, what makes sense. Their discussion will be transparent and available word for word. They will bring us to place where we can agree and vote on the correct path. Then we as a group, a very large group, will encourage our representatives to follow our wishes. Those that do will be rewarded with continued employment eliminating the need for money in politics..
That’s the solution and this is The People’s White House in Daytona Beach. As a non-political (non-partisan) association, we encourage collaboration, communication and community. As a for-profit corporation we need no big donor money and our only allegiance is to our members, our owners. With our 401c4 not-for profit partner we can affect change from all directions.
